UQAR is the site of the Youth and Citizens’ Forum
The Youth and Citizens’ Forum will be held at the campus of the Université du Québec à Rimouski, a centre of excellence in the fields of regional development, ocean sciences and northern studies. The campus is a 20-minute walk from the St. Lawrence Estuary and main attractions and services of the City of Rimouski.
Hôtel Rimouski is the site of the main conference
The main conference will be held at Hôtel Rimouski and Centre de congrès. Located on the banks of the St. Lawrence River, the hotel offers a spectacular view of the shoreline and provides easy access to the Promenade de la Mer and other downtown attractions and activities.
Destination Rimouski

The Coastal Zone Canada 2012 Conference will take place in the magnificent city of Rimouski in the Lower St. Lawrence, one of the many beautiful regions of maritime Quebec.
Rimouski is a renowned resort destination and is recognized as a major hub in the field of marine science and technology. The city and surrounding area is home to a number of leading-edge institutions and organizations in this sector, such as the Université du Québec à Rimouski – Institut des sciences de la mer, Technopole maritime du Québec, the Marine Biotechnology Research Centre, the Institut maritime du Québec and Fisheries and Oceans Canada’s Maurice Lamontagne Institute.

Transport
Rimouski, located on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River, is accessible by road, air, sea and rail.
Road
Orléans Express is the largest provider of intercity bus service to the Lower-St. Lawrence, Gaspé, Québec City and Montreal areas. The Rimouski bus station is located near the Hôtel Rimouski et Centre de congrès.
A taxi service is available in Rimouski 24/7 and there are also several car rental companies, as indicated on the locator map below.
Air
Mont-Joli Airport (YYY), 30 kilometers from Rimouski, is the nearest airport from the event sites. Connections are offered to Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB), located 300 kilometers from Rimouski, and Montréal-Trudeau Airport (YUL), 520 kilometers from Rimouski. There are no airline companies with passenger service to Rimouski Airport (YXK).
Car rental companies are present at airports YYY, YUL, and YQB. Visit the websites of these airports for more information on this service.
Sea
The Rimouski marina and port are located near the Convention Centre and other hotels in Rimouski. The Rimouski/Forestville crossing, on board the CNM Evolution catamaran, will take you across the St. Lawrence in just 60 minutes.
Rail
The Rimouski train station is served by Via Rail with connections across Canada and the United States.
